This is good for people who have a data cap on their ISP service plan. You can limit how fast it downloads files, how many files it should download at the same time, and how much data per session/day/hour/etc it should download before stopping. Internet Download Manager can schedule downloads for a later time, then, if you wish, it will shut down your computer for you. With Internet Download Manager, I can get ~3.x MB/s, depending on if my internet connection is being used by another program, which it usually is. When downloading files from a file locker, like Rapidgator, if I download a file using my web browser, I get speeds at ~1 MB/s max. It maximizes download speeds by using multiple streams, but it also uses "dynamic file segmentation technology," where the segments are dynamically configured to use the existing connections during download process. Downloading files from websites that can handle these multiple connections (you can configure the # of connections, from 1, up to 32), like Youtube, will often download at your internet connection's max download speed. When the whole file has been downloaded, Internet Download Manager re-assembles the pieces into the complete file. When you download a file from a website, it downloads multiple chunks (segments) of that file from multiple servers, simultaneously, which increases the overall download speed. You can tell Internet Download Manager how many pages deep it should go before stopping the batch, etc. You can also perform batch downloads, like downloading all images on a website. Internet Download Manager can enable the downloading of files on some sites that don't normally allow you to download from. I bought it at version 6.21 build 9, it is currently at version 6.25 build 23. Internet Download Manager is a legit program.
